1. Visit the Oklahoma City Zoo which also features a splash pad and petting area for the kids.

2. Visit the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, a large museum featuring western art.

3. Visit Science Museum Oklahoma - with lots of hands on exhibits.

4. go indoor rock climbing at the Rocktown Climbing Gym

5. Remington Park Racing & Casino

6. Watch an Oklahoma City Thunder game at the Chesapeake Energy Arena

7. The Oklahoma City Museum of Art has the largest collection of glass by Dale Chihuly and numerous rotating exhibits

8. View the tropical gardens and waterfalls at The Myriad Botanical Gardens

9. Visit the American Banjo Museum with over 300 banjos displayed.

10. Have some fun at Frontier City theme park with rollercoasters, water slides and even a petting zoo. And they also have a free concerts series during the summer.

11. Visit the Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism - a tribute to those we lost in the Oklahoma bombing

12. Visit the Museum of Osteology which focuses on the skeletal system

Halloween Events: Frightfest at Frontier Village features the largest and scariest house in Oklahoma, Haunt the Zoo for Halloween - kids can trick or treat at the zoo from the 26th to the 31st, Haunt the River Cruises, Haunted houses including Terror on 10th Street and Ultimate Terrors, Creepy Conservatory at the Crystal Bridge Tropic Conservatory, The Oklahoma Gazette's Halloween Parade,  or Haunt the Harn on Halloween night which features hay rides.

25. Visit the Harn Homestead and 1889ers Museum, this outside museum features a one room schoolhouse, a barn with windmill and an original Victorian home.

26. Go biking, kayaking, climb the SandRidge skytrail or go for a ride on a zipline at the Oklahoma City Boathouse District or enjoy one of their festivals such as the Sandridge Stars & Stripes Festival held in late June.

Visit the Orr Family Farm where you can take a ride on the train, pet the animals, or ride the carousel. Is currently closed due to damage from the May 2013 tornado.

  1. I think I'm not seeing the Paseo Arts District or the Plaza District? Also - is the American Indian Museum even a stop right now? I do love the list. Of course I looked for holes over all the great things posted! Thank you!
